Heart of Garbage

Step into the steel-toed boots of the mech's unsung hero—the engineer! When skyscraper-sized kaiju come crashing down on your city, you're not the pilot steering the mech—you’re the one keeping it from falling apart. Dash through the fiery corridors of your colossal war machine, patch up breaches, rewire circuits, and slap on upgrades just in time to blast that towering beast back to the ocean. Your mech’s survival is in your hands—literally! From frantic fire-fighting to randomly generated weapon enhancements, every battle is a high-octane scramble to keep your mech in one piece and the kaiju in pieces!

Instructions:

• Route power to the mech's various systems using the reactor. Greater power leads to greater performance (faster weapon firing, better aiming, higher dodge chance, faster shield replenishment, etc.)
• Repair damaged system modules to bring them back online and partially heal your hull (putting out fires also repairs hull)
• Select ship upgrades between combat

Note: This game was developed in 4 days for GMTK Game Jam 2024. The team was comprised of Nicholas Lydon, Justin Hegyi, Bill Raj-Derouin, and Sean Natarajan.
